title. Dundee Rep Engage Flashmob

company. Dundee Rep Theatre

role. Choreographer

location. V&A, Dundee

date. October 2018

I worked with Dundee Rep's Engage groups "Feel Good Fridays" and "Beautiful People", as well as Link Up Youth Dance Company to create a flashmob of dance and spoken word, based on the participants journeys with their groups.

Over a full day of rehearsals, I brought the three intergenerational groups together to generate words and movements which represented their collective experiences. This was then performed at the "Building Stronger Communities" event at the V&A, Dundee in October 2018. The event celebrated projects funded by The Rank Foundation and the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust.

"Massive thanks for all your hard work, in such a short time, and inspiring enthusiasm to get us all motivated, confident and moving in ways that I never imagined I could! I'd only ever acted in a play among, on top and under an audience (in the upstairs room of a pub in Bristol) and really loved the very beginning of our dance when there were still audience members on the floor. Their responses were fascinating"
